Report: The most sought-after skills in candidate resumes right now

New analysis of job postings, employer and job seeker web searches, and hiring trends reveals the most sought-after skills in candidate resumes for Q4 of 2017.

In the occupational data report culled from the 2016 census, Statistics Canada revealed the 10 most common job titles for Canadian men and women. That release also highlighted that one of the fastest-growing sectors to be in is the high-skilled computer and information systems field. Employment in the tech sector grew by 19 per cent between 2006 and 2016.

The tech recruitment firm CyberCoders just last week released new data revealing the most in-demand skills for professionals in IT – as well as in construction and accounting.

The most sought after skill by employers in Information Technology is React, a JavaScript library used for building user interfaces within large platforms such as Facebook and Instagram. Other top skills include Docker and Node.JS.

React similarly topped the list of employer searches on Indeed. Their team also published the most sought-after tech skills for 2017 last week. Here are the abilities that are trending upwards the most right now in keyword searches of resumes.
