When employers are hiring, they often look at many, many resumes before selecting the few candidates that they want to meet for a job interview. Having a resume that stands out from the crowd is your only chance of making it to the next round.

The team over at Net Credit has done the research and compiled the data on how employers scan resumes and what they like to see most into a handy infographic. For example, 88 per cent of recruiters will reject a resume if it includes a photo. On the flip side, 71 per cent say they prefer to see links to an online portfolio, LinkedIn profile or other social media accounts.
