A new report lists the top Emerging Jobs in Canada,  highlighting jobs experiencing tremendous growth and examining what these trends mean for the workforce.

The report, from LinkedIn, identifies the top jobs that have emerged as fast growing over the last five years, their associated skills, and insights into the industries and cities hiring for these jobs. It won’t shock you that the Emerging Jobs Report is dominated by tech positions.

According to the creators, the trends listed also have implications for those outside of tech. Everyone will need to learn new skills, like data literacy, to stay alive in the rapidly changing job market.

They also highlight the increasing value of soft skills, or “skills that can’t be automated,” like communication, as one of the job trends for 2020. Other job trends include the pervasiveness of data, the digital transformation of banking, the innovations in gaming and the popularity of online learning.
